Cashmere suits are most appropriate for autumn and winter — the fibre's warmth and weight (typically 300–380g) is best suited to cooler temperatures. In Hong Kong's mild winters (December through February), a cashmere-blend suit is the most luxurious and practical choice. For clients who spend time in colder climates — London, New York, Tokyo — a pure cashmere suit or heavy cashmere-blend is outstanding for important meetings and formal occasions.

Colour and Style for Cashmere

Cashmere's natural warmth and softness lend themselves to rich, deep colours: charcoal, deep navy, burgundy, bottle green and camel are particularly beautiful in cashmere cloth. The fabric takes dye extremely well and produces colours of exceptional depth and warmth. Style-wise, a slightly more relaxed silhouette complements cashmere's inherent softness — over-structured shoulders or extreme suppression can fight the natural drape of the cloth.

Investment and Care

Cashmere commands a premium over wool — fabric alone for a bespoke cashmere suit can range from HKD 8,000 to HKD 25,000 depending on the mill and purity. However, properly cared for, a cashmere suit lasts a lifetime. Store with cedar blocks, brush gently after each wear, steam rather than press, and dry clean no more than once a year.
