For American clients who cannot travel to Hong Kong, our USA trunk shows bring Manhattan Tailors to you. We have been visiting cities across the United States for over 20 years, serving a loyal base of American clients who commission suits, shirts and trousers during our visits and return to our atelier in Hong Kong when they travel to Asia.

What Happens at a Trunk Show?

A trunk show is a private consultation event, typically held at a hotel suite or private club over two to four days. Our master cutter travels with a full collection of fabric bunches — thousands of swatches from Dormeuil, Scabal, Holland & Sherry and other premier mills — along with all necessary measuring and fitting tools. Each client receives a dedicated 45–60 minute appointment for a new commission, or 20–30 minutes for follow-up orders.

For new clients, we take a full set of measurements, discuss fabric and style preferences and confirm the commission at the appointment. The suit is then made in Hong Kong and shipped directly to the client's address in the USA — typically within four to six weeks of the trunk show.

Our regular USA trunk show circuit includes New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Houston, Boston, Washington D.C. and Miami, among others. We also make periodic visits to secondary cities upon sufficient client interest. Pricing at USA Trunk Shows

Pricing at our USA trunk shows reflects our Hong Kong atelier prices — not inflated to local market rates. A fully bespoke suit in Super 120s starts at comparable prices to our Hong Kong commissions. There is no trunk show surcharge; the savings of commissioning a Hong Kong bespoke suit apply fully to USA clients. Shipping to the USA is included for orders above a minimum commission value.

Fittings for USA Clients

For new USA clients, we recommend a two-visit process: initial consultation and measurements at the trunk show, then a delivery fitting either at the following trunk show visit (typically six months later) or shipped with a complimentary first-alteration allowance. For established clients with a good pattern on file, a single trunk show appointment is typically sufficient for both order and collection.

How to Register for the Next USA Trunk Show
