The simplest approach is a gift consultation appointment — you book an initial consultation, attend (optionally) or send the recipient alone, and the commission proceeds normally. The gifter pays either in advance (we issue a gift letter confirming the commission value and details) or at the point of order. Many clients give the consultation appointment as the primary gift — the physical letter or card describing the commission is the present opened on the birthday or occasion; the consultation is arranged at mutual convenience thereafter.

Alternatively, we offer a gift voucher of a specific amount, which the recipient applies to their commission. This is slightly less personal but completely flexible — the recipient chooses cloth, specification and commission type entirely independently. Gift vouchers have no expiry and can be used for any Manhattan Tailors service.

What Information Do You Need?

To book a gifted bespoke suit consultation, you need: the recipient's name, a preferred date range for the consultation, and ideally a rough sense of their typical suit colours and occasions (business, formal, casual). You do not need their measurements — our master cutter takes all measurements at the consultation. If the recipient has a strong preference for a specific cloth or style, noting this in the briefing helps us prepare relevant swatches for their appointment.

For clients commissioning a suit for a family member or partner based overseas, we can accommodate remote measurement and postal fitting for clients who cannot attend in person. We discuss the logistics in detail at the point of the gift booking.
